A low-cost fluorescence reader for in vitro transcription and nucleic acid detection with Cas13a

This paper is the outcome of the iGEM 2017 project CascAID, where we aimed at using the Cas13a system to detect RNA sequences in patient samples in an on-site setting. In the iGEM project, we developed hardware, software, and the molecular biology and biochemistry for device.
